AMA Distributes 1,500 Dual Desks to Schools Across Accra Metropolis

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has made a significant contribution to improving the learning environment in Accra’s basic schools by donating 1,500 dual desks.
This generous donation is part of the assembly’s annual initiative to enhance educational infrastructure and provide students with the necessary tools to focus on their studies.
Mayor Elizabeth Sackey emphasized that providing comfortable seating for students is crucial for their ability to concentrate and retain information.
The desks will be distributed among three schools across the three educational districts in the Accra metropolis, addressing the increasing student enrollment in basic schools.
This effort is expected to alleviate some of the challenges schools face in accommodating rising student populations while working to improve learning conditions. The AMA’s commitment to educational development also includes new school construction projects and logistical support.
Mrs. Justine Ivy Apawu, Accra Metro Education Director, praised the AMA for its consistent support, highlighting the importance of proper maintenance to ensure the desks’ longevity.
She noted that the additional desks would enable students to sit more comfortably during lessons and exams, promoting focus and reducing instances of academic dishonesty.
