KA Technologies, suppliers of laptops for the One Teacher-One Laptop Initiative, has responded to comments made by Isaac Ofori, leader of the All Teachers Alliance-Ghana (ATAG), regarding the company’s alleged failure to provide ICT training and distribute laptops to teachers.

KA Technologies described Ofori’s comments as misleading and damaging to their corporate reputation. The company emphasized that the three leading teacher unions – Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), and Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT) – were parties to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and are better equipped to validate the company’s claims [1).

The company has given Ofori a seven-day ultimatum to retract his statements and apologize. KA Technologies maintains that it has successfully completed nationwide training and laptop distribution to over 300,000 teachers under the Ghana Education Service (GES).

For any post-implementation concerns, KA Technologies expects them to be channeled through the GES or the three leading teacher unions. The company reassures that its doors remain open to resolving outstanding issues, with 24/7 Aftercare Centers providing continuous customer and technical assistance to teachers.

In response to Ofori’s claims that no training has taken place, KA Technologies asserts that the three leading unions are aware of the project’s terms and timelines and have not disputed the company’s progress.
