University of Ghana Opens Applications for Graduate & Ph.D. Programmes
The University of Ghana is now accepting applications for its graduate and Ph.D. programmes. Interested candidates must apply online by June 30, 2025.
Admission Requirements
- Entrance Exams & Interviews: Some applicants may be required to take an exam or attend an interview.
- MPhil Upgrade: MA/MSc students with a B+ average or higher in their first semester may be upgraded to MPhil upon recommendation.
- Ph.D. Admission:
- With a Master’s: Holders of relevant master’s degrees can apply directly.
- With a First Degree: High-achieving first-degree holders must complete Level 600 courses before progressing to the Ph.D. program.
Ph.D. programs are fee-paying and last:
- Full-Time: 4 years
- Part-Time: 6 years
Application Process
- Ghanaian Applicants: Purchase an e-voucher (GHS 220.00) from banks like Zenith Bank or Universal Merchant Bank and apply online: apply.ug.edu.gh/admissions/graduate/login
- International Applicants: Pay a non-refundable US$110.00 via bank transfer or secure online payment.

- Three referees’ details
- Legal documents for name changes
