Second Tranche of 25% Increment in Base Pay for Public Sector Workers to Start at July’s End

Following the conclusion of public sector compensation negotiations last year, the government of Ghana plans to adjust public sector workers’ salary increment to 25% from January 2024 to December 2024.

The extra 2% increase was disclosed in a signed agreement between Organized Labor, which comprises worker unions, associations, and institutions within the Ghanaian public service, referred to as “Labour,” and the government of Ghana, represented by the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC), Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations (MELR), and Ministry of Finance (MoF), collectively known as “The Employer.”

All employees in the public sector began receiving the 23% increment in January 2024; this stopped in June 2024. The 25% increase will become effective from July 2024 to December 2024.
