A legal dispute has unfolded between the outgoing Managing Director of SIC Insurance, Hollistar Duah-Yentumi, and the company after she allegedly refused to relinquish her position, despite being replaced by President John Mahama’s appointee, James Agyenim-Boateng.

Duah-Yentumi filed a lawsuit on February 4, challenging her removal while shedding light on her impressive earnings and benefits as SIC’s top executive.

Court documents reveal that Duah-Yentumi’s gross monthly salary was GH₵70,000, amounting to GH₵840,000 annually in basic pay.

Additionally, she received a clothing allowance of GH₵84,000 per year, an entertainment allowance of GH₵7,000 per month, and a canteen allowance of GH₵850 each month.

Her perks also included a professional allowance of GH₵1,200, along with payments for personal staff: GH₵3,000 each for a house help and personal security, and GH₵2,000 for a gardener.

Her benefits extended further, with an annual $3,000 for familiarization tours, $810 per diem for official trips, and full coverage for all utility bills, property rates, and taxes for her official residence.

Moreover, she had access to a Toyota Land Cruiser V8, which she could purchase at the end of her term, a mobile phone with recharge units, and 450 liters of fuel per month.

All of these earnings and benefits were subject to an annual 15 percent increment review.

Although President Mahama appointed James Agyenim-Boateng as her successor on January 27, Duah-Yentumi maintains that her four-year contract, which expires on January 1, 2028, remains valid. She asserts that any changes to her contract must be approved by the Board of Directors or resolved at an Annual General Meeting.
