LATEST UPDATE: Laptop Distribution under One Teacher, One Laptop Programme Completed
All Eligible Teachers Receive Laptops in Successful Completion of Distribution Program
KA Technologies Limited, the company responsible for the distribution, has announced the successful completion of the nationwide supply, training, and distribution of laptop computers to qualified teachers from kindergarten, primary, Junior High School (JHS), and Senior High School (SHS), as well as teachers on study leave and non-teaching staff under the Ghana Education Service (GES).
This initiative, launched by the Vice-President in September 2021, aims to enhance education delivery through information technology.
The Government of Ghana, through the Ministry of Education, has supported this program, with the goal of providing digital-aided teaching and learning in pre-tertiary educational institutions nationwide. Under this program, the Government bears 70% of the cost of the laptops, while the teachers contribute 30%.
The company has established 24/7 Aftercare Centers across the country, providing continuous customer and technical assistance to teachers. The user-friendly katcare App enables teachers to book repair services and purchase laptop accessories. Additionally, a toll-free line (0800790555) is available for any complaints or inquiries.
KA Technologies expresses its gratitude to the teacher unions, including the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT), as well as stakeholders, partners, and the regulatory institutions, for their support.
