The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a comprehensive payroll audit for teachers in the Central Gonja District, Savannah Region, from October 22 to November 5, 2024. This initiative aims to enhance payroll accuracy and transparency.

All teachers are required to attend the audit in person, bringing essential documents, including school payment vouchers for September 2024, appointment letters, promotion letters, last upgrading letters, intra-district reposting letters, national ID cards, August and September 2024 payslips, personal files from the office, personal record forms, inter-district or regional reposting letters, and sick leave, study leave, or permission letters.

The audit’s primary objective is to verify teachers’ employment details, ensure accurate record-keeping, and prevent payroll discrepancies. Mrs. Veronica Takmpour-Kuupol, District Director of Education, emphasizes the importance of teacher cooperation.

The audit will take place in two phases: October 22-31, 2024, for various circuits, and November 4-5, 2024, for additional dates. This effort aligns with GES’ nationwide campaign to maintain a precise and accountable payroll system.

By validating employment information and promoting openness, the audit ensures that only eligible teachers receive payment. Teachers are advised to prepare necessary documents in advance.

This payroll audit is part of GES’ broader strategy to maintain an accurate and up-to-date register of qualified teachers. The audit provides an opportunity to correct any discrepancies or issues related to teachers’ payroll records.
