The Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has officially confirmed that the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) will release the results of the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) on December 29, 2024.

This announcement follows the Ministry of Education’s recent release of an additional GHβ‚΅25 million to WAEC, aimed at supporting the council’s operations and enhancing its efficiency.

The provision of these funds has enabled WAEC to expedite the marking process, thereby ensuring the timely release of the examination results.

According to Dr. Adutwum, WAEC has made significant progress in the marking process, having completed approximately 50% of the objective marking.

The Minister expressed confidence in the measures taken to uphold the integrity of the examination process, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the results.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, December 24, Dr. Adutwum stated, “I came to apprise myself of developments and confirm that they are working through the holidays to release the results on or before the 29th of this month.

I observed the workers diligently marking, with nearly 50% of the objectives already completed.”
