David Prah, the Director-General of the Ghana Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Service, has formally resigned from his position, effective Monday, January 27, 2025.
In his resignation letter addressed to President John Dramani Mahama, Mr. Prah cited his intention to pursue other career obligations and personal goals as the reason for stepping down.
Mr. Prah expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve, highlighting the strides made in advancing TVET education in Ghana over the past few years. He emphasized his pride in the work done in pursuit of the TVET transformational agenda, believing that TVET holds the key to turning the economic fortunes of Ghana’s youth.
During his tenure, Mr. Prah worked closely with various stakeholders, including former President Nana Akufo-Addo, former Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, and the staff of Ghana TVET Service. He also extended his appreciation to the Ministry of Education for their support.
Before his appointment as Director-General, Mr. Prah served as the Deputy Director-General in charge of Operations at the Ghana TVET Service. He brought over three decades of experience in Technical and Vocational Education and Training, as well as expertise in Competence-Based Training.
Mr. Prah’s resignation marks the end of his tenure as Director-General, a position he held since August 10, 2024 . He has assured a seamless transition to the next Director-General of the Ghana TVET Service.
