David Prah Resigns as Director-General of Ghana TVET Service

The Director-General of the Ghana Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Service, David Prah, has officially stepped down from his position, effective Monday, January 27, 2025.

In his resignation letter addressed to President John Dramani Mahama, Mr. Prah cited his decision to pursue other career aspirations and personal goals as the reason for his departure.

“I write to formally inform you of my resignation as Director-General of the Ghana TVET Service, effective today, Monday, January 27, 2025. Mr. President, this resignation has become necessary to enable me to pursue other career obligations and personal goals,” portions of his letter stated.

Mr. Prah expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve and reflected on the significant progress made in advancing TVET education in Ghana under his leadership.

“I am very proud of the work done in pursuit of the TVET transformational agenda. I strongly believe that TVET holds the key to unlocking the economic potential of the youth in this country,” he noted.

He pledged to ensure a smooth and seamless transition for his successor to maintain continuity in the Service’s operations.

Mr. Prah also extended his appreciation to former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, former Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the staff of Ghana TVET Service, and the Ministry of Education for their unwavering support during his tenure.

Additionally, he conveyed his best wishes to President John Dramani Mahama, his Cabinet, and the newly appointed Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, as they continue to lead the country’s education agenda.
