In a significant development, the High Court has dismissed the West African Examinations Council’s (WAEC) stay of execution, ordering the immediate release of all withheld results. This decision comes as a huge relief to students who have been eagerly waiting for their results.

According to the court’s ruling, WAEC must release the withheld results within the shortest possible timeframe. Furthermore, the examination body has been directed to provide evidence of the canceled results of students. This move is expected to bring transparency and accountability to the examination process.

The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) has been at the forefront of the fight for students’ interests, and this court ruling is a testament to their efforts. Students can now breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that their results will be released soon.

It’s worth noting that WAEC had withheld the results of over 3,600 candidates pending investigations into examination malpractice ΒΉ. The examination body had also canceled the results of 174 candidates due to various forms of malpractice, including the use of foreign materials and collusion.

With the court’s ruling, WAEC is now compelled to release the withheld results and provide evidence of the canceled results. This decision is expected to have a significant impact on the education sector in Ghana.
