General Admission Requirements for Ghanaian Applicants (WASSCE/SSSCE)
To be eligible for admission into the full-time undergraduate degree programmes at the University of Ghana, Ghanaian applicants with WASSCE or SSSCE qualifications must meet the following general entry requirements:
A. Full-Time Degree Programmes – General Entry Requirements
Applicants must have credit passes in seven subjects, comprising:

Integrated Science/Core Science

Social Studies

Three Elective Subjects relevant to the programme being applied for.

B. Admission Aggregate Calculation
Admission aggregates are calculated using six subjects: the four core and two best electives (depending on the programme). The acceptable aggregate thresholds are:

Regular Admissions: Aggregate not exceeding 24

Distance Education Admissions: Aggregate not exceeding 30
For Science-Related Programmes:

Aggregate is calculated using:
English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science/Core Science, and three elective subjects in the sciences. -
Note: Social Studies is not included in the calculation.
For Non-Science Programmes:

Aggregate is calculated using:
English, Core Mathematics, Social Studies/Life Skills, and three elective subjects in General Arts or Business. -
Note: Integrated Science is not included in the calculation.
Additional Qualifications Accepted
GCE Cambridge ‘A’ and ‘O’ Level Holders

A minimum of three relevant subjects at the Advanced Level (A-Level).

Plus, five passes at the Ordinary Level (O-Level) including English and Mathematics.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Holders

Must present three relevant subjects at Higher Level (HL).

Plus, passes in at least five subjects including English and Mathematics at the Standard Level (SL) or equivalent.
