The Volta Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mawutor Agbavitor, has cautioned party members and executives to be realistic in their expectations of the President and his government.

Speaking during President Mahama’s thank-you tour to Ho, he reassured the people that the future remained bright for the region.

President Mahama embarked on the tour to express gratitude to the people for their overwhelming support and votes during the elections. He described the region as a beacon of democracy and a cornerstone of the NDC.

The President emphasized that his appointments were guided by principles of competence and the ability to deliver. He cited the appointment of Madam Dzifa Abla Gomashie as Minister of Tourism, aimed at developing the region’s rich tourism potential.

Mr. Agbavitor highlighted the region’s contributions to the NDC’s success, noting a 90.11 percent voter turnout in favor of the party in the 2024 general election.

He expressed optimism that with the President’s initiatives and resetting agenda, the margin would shrink further to single digits in the future.

Togbe Patamia Dzekle VII, Paramount Chief of Bator and Vice President of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs, pledged the support of the chiefs to helping the President achieve his “Resetting Ghana Agenda.”

Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, expressed appreciation for the swift ministerial appointments and urged the President to prioritize resolving the water challenges facing Ho and fix the roads around the region.

Rev. Seth Mawutor, Chairman of the Christian Episcopal Association in the Volta Region, appealed to the people to exercise patience and pray for the President’s success, emphasizing that collective support was needed for the President to fulfill his promises.
