ssin North, Central Region – Headmaster Advocates for Safe Learning Environments During 16 Days of Activism
The Headmaster of Assin North Senior High Technical School, Mr. Emmanuel Frimpong Adjorlolo, took a bold stance during this year’s 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, calling on educational institutions to foster safer and more supportive learning environments for students.
Speaking at a school gathering during the global campaign, which ran from November 25 (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) to December 10 (Human Rights Day), Adjorlolo stressed the importance of addressing gender-based violence within educational settings.
“Every student must feel safe, respected, and protected in our schools, which should be havens of learning,” Adjorlolo stated. He called on fellow educators to take proactive measures and highlighted the need for comprehensive strategies to prevent and respond to gender-based violence.
The school’s observance of the 16 Days of Activism included awareness campaigns, student seminars, and open discussions focused on promoting gender equality, mutual respect, and a zero-tolerance culture for violence.
Assin North Senior High Technical School is setting an example in the region by tackling gender-based violence and working toward the creation of safer educational environments for all students.
This event serves as a reminder of the ongoing international fight against gender-based violence and the need to protect and uphold students’ rights and dignity.
